Build terms

In short

• You pay half to start and half only after you approve the finished platform.
• Your working preview arrives within 5 business days (Launch), 7 business days (Creator), 10 business days (Pro) of pressing Ready to build. If we're late, you get 10% off the balance for every business day late, up to 50%.
• Changed your mind? Cancel any time before you press Ready to build and get your whole deposit back.
• Changes are yours to make, as often as you like: in the builder before and after the preview, free; after delivery, words, blocks and pictures in your Owner's Portal any time, and anything in the builder free for your first 45 days, then with the care plan.
• A small "Built with Deedmade" link sits in your footer. Switch it off any time in Edit your pages; nothing else changes.
• It runs on your own accounts. You keep it, whether or not you ever pay us again, as long as what you paid stays paid: a payment reversed through your bank (a chargeback) pauses it until that's resolved.

Your timeline

1. Pay the depositDay 0

   You pick a plan and extras and pay half. Your price is locked from this moment and won't change, however long you take on the next step.

2. Fill in your build detailsUp to 90 days

   At your own pace: your look, website pages, members home, Owner’s Portal, business details, prices, and your files (logo, videos, photos). It saves as you go. When everything is in, press Ready to build. We remind you by email at day 30, day 60, day 83.

3. We build your working previewLaunch: 5 · Creator: 7 · Pro: 10 business days

   Counted from the day you press Ready to build. Your order page shows the exact due date. It's a working copy of your website, members area and Owner’s Portal on a private address, with your content in it, not a picture.

4. You review itUp to 30 days

   Click through everything. Then either press The preview is right, or press Make changes: change anything in the builder and your preview is rebuilt with it, as often as you like. We remind you at day 14 and day 23.

5. We put it live on your accounts2 business days

   Counted from when you say the preview is right and your accounts are connected (your Cloudflare, Stripe and domain, from your order page). New domain settings can take up to 48 hours to reach everyone.

6. You approve and pay the balanceWhen you're happy

   Check the live platform and press Approve. Only then is the other half charged, to the card you paid the deposit with. Nothing is charged before you approve.

Business days are Monday to Friday. Your order page always shows your own dates.

What you pay

• Deposit: half the price, when you order. Card, or pay later with Klarna or Affirm where Stripe offers them.
• Balance: the other half, charged only when you approve the live platform, minus any late discount.
• Running costs, paid by you directly to those companies, not to us: Stripe's fee on each sale, Cloudflare (free for most; $5 a month if you use live features, and video storage as you chose it), your domain, and email sending if you go past the free amount. We never take a cut of your sales.
• Optional after delivery: the Care plan at $99 a month (cancel any time): new features and themes, 2 redesigns a year, checked backups and monitoring. Without it, after your first 45 days, each round of builder changes you publish is $49.

Changes

• Before you pay anything more: you design everything yourself in the builder after the deposit, at your own pace.
• On the preview: change anything yourself in the builder, with the live preview beside you, as often as you like. Each time you send your changes, the preview is rebuilt with them.
• After you approve: After your first 45 days, without the care plan: one round of changes you make in the builder (look, pages, sections, features), published to your platform. Published automatically, usually within the hour. Words, blocks and pictures you can always change yourself in your Owner’s Portal, free.

If we're late

If your preview isn't ready by the due date on your order page, 10% comes off your balance for each business day late, up to 50%. You don't have to ask: the discount is worked out and applied automatically when the balance is charged, and your order page shows it as it happens.

Cancelling and refunds

• Before you press Ready to build: cancel from your order page and your whole deposit is refunded straight away, no questions asked.
• If you don't press Ready to build within 90 days: we close the order and refund your whole deposit automatically.
• After you press Ready to build: we've started building, so the deposit isn't refundable, with one exception: if we can't deliver what you ordered, you get it all back.
• If you don't reply to your preview within 30 days: the order closes. The deposit covers the work done and nothing more is charged. Write to us to pick it up again.
• Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually show within 5 to 10 days.

What we need from you

• Your build details and files: logo, photos, videos, text. We don't write your content or film your videos unless your plan includes it.
• Accounts in your own name: Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend (email) and your domain. They're tied to your identity (and, for Stripe, your bank), so only you can legally open them. Your order page walks you through each one, about 5 minutes each, and we set up everything inside them.
• That you have the right to use everything you send us, and that what you sell is legal where you sell it.

What you own

Your website, members area and Owner’s Portal run on your accounts, with your content and your members' data in them. You can keep running them forever without paying us anything more, and you can hire anyone you like to work on them. The tested engine underneath is licensed to you for your own business, so you can't resell it as a product of your own.

Your licence, and reversed payments

• The software we built runs under a licence that lasts forever once you've paid for it. Your accounts, your content and your members' data are yours, licence or not.
• Your platform checks that licence with us about once an hour. If a payment you made to us is reversed through your bank (a chargeback), the licence is paused: your website, members area and Owner’s Portal show that they're unavailable until it's resolved.
• If the dispute is withdrawn or settled, it switches back on by itself within the hour. If something's wrong with what we built, tell us first: that's what the fix promise is for.
• If a dispute is opened, we send your bank the record of the order: what you chose, what you approved and when, and what was delivered.

After it's live

• 30-day fix promise: if anything we built doesn't work as described in your order within 30 days of going live, we fix it free.
• After that, fixes and engine updates are part of the Care plan, or a change request if you don't have it.
• We aren't responsible for outages at Cloudflare, Stripe, your domain company or email provider, or for problems caused by changes made by someone other than us.

What we don't promise

• Sales, sign-ups or income. The platform gives you the tools; the business is yours.
• Legal or regulatory advice. Your terms, privacy and refund pages start from plain templates; check them for your country and business. We don't certify compliance such as HIPAA.
